This course will help occupational therapy practitioners have a better understanding of what a stroke is, the diagnostics, the recovery process, how occupational therapy fits in with the other members of the medical team, and how to educate family members/caregivers. 

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand what a stroke is.
  • Learn the types of strokes.
  • Learn stroke warning signs.
  • Learn what other members of the treatment team do in the recovery process.
  • Learn what occupational therapy practitioners can do for the patient and their families.
  • Have more resources for their therapeutic toolbox.
