This course will help occupational therapy practitioners have a better understanding of what a stroke is, the diagnostics, the recovery process, how occupational therapy fits in with the other members of the medical team, and how to educate family members/caregivers.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Understand what a stroke is.
- Learn the types of strokes.
- Learn stroke warning signs.
- Learn what other members of the treatment team do in the recovery process.
- Learn what occupational therapy practitioners can do for the patient and their families.
- Have more resources for their therapeutic toolbox.
